I joined the Malkova lab as a senior researcher after completing a postdoc in the lab of Yael Nechemia-Arbely at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where I studied the epigenetic identity of human centromeres. I received my Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Texas at San Antonio, where I studied the epigenetics of human and non-human primate stem cells. My research uses epigenetic and bioinformatic techniques to help resolve biological processes in complex regions of the human genome, such as the mechanisms underlying ALT in humans.
In my free time, I enjoy watching horror movies, live music, and going on adventures outdoors with my family.
