Academic Background:
Bachelor's degree in Plant Science and Biotechnology, University of Port Harcourt, NigeriaÂ
Master's degree in Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Hull, United Kingdom
Bio and Research Interests:
I am a passionate scientist with a keen interest in genomics and cancer research. My academic journey has led me to focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying cancer progression and genomic instabilities associated with genetic diseases.
My research focuses on how nuclear pore localization, checkpoint signaling, and chromatin modifications together support break-induced replication (BIR). By studying how broken chromosomes are positioned, how long cells remain arrested, and how chromatin is rewired during repair, I aim to uncover general principles of genome stability that are relevant to cancer biology.
Outside the lab, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and foods and spending time playing with my baby daughter.
