Kendra Musmaker
Hi, I'm Kendra Musmaker! I'm a fifth-year grad student at the University of Iowa.
I use yeast to study the roles of resection factors and checkpoint proteins in mutagenesis during BIR and how it relate to cancer. I also study the genes involved in alternative lengthening of telomeres, a BIR-like mechanism that is utilized in 10-15% of cancers.
In my free time, I bake, crochet, sew, and read. I'm hoping to graduate in the fall of 2024 and get a job teaching at a small college or university.Â
