Rosemary Lee

Hi! My name is Rosemary Lee and I’m originally from South Korea.

I received my bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2018. I started my graduate school in Dr. Anna Malkova’s lab in 2018 and received my Ph.D. in 2023 December. Afterward, I decided to continue my research in Anna’s lab as a postdoctoral fellow.

My research interest is to identify new genes involved in BIR and characterize their roles to understand the molecular mechanism of BIR. In particular, I’m very interested in the roles of Pif1 DNA helicase which is a well-known BIR-specific protein. Currently, I am working on identifying important residues and the regulation of their post-translational modifications during BIR. Outside the lab, I enjoy cooking, drawing, and building Legos!
